In this interview, Kat Vellos shares a personal experience of loneliness that really changed her. That experience gave birth to a number of creative projects, including writing a book about adult friendship and hosting community events called “Better Than Small Talk”. She shares some of what she has learned about how people can make more fulfilling connections and have more satisfying conversations.

Kat Vellos is the founder of Better Than Small Talk. She is a facilitator and user experience designer who is passionate about community-building. Since 2001, she's been leading community gatherings designed to connect people and foster community. She is currently working on a book about adult friendship and community.
