INTERVIEW TOPIC:

SOLITUDE AND DEEP IMAGINATION AS ANTIDOTES TO LONELINESS

Peter Scanlan is a clinical psychology and nature-based soul guide.

In this interview, nature-based soul guide Peter Scanlan suggests that the modern epidemic of loneliness derives from a lack of the solitude (chosen aloneness) we need in order to meet the deeper truths of ourselves. He says that the antidote to loneliness lies in the invisible realm of our deep imagination, where we can come into relationship with parts of ourselves that carry the resources and gifts we are longing for.

BIO:

Peter Scanlan has journeyed through a succession of priesthoods from the Roman Catholic variety (3 years) to Clinical Psychologist (38 years) to Vision Fast and Soulcraft guide for Animas (16 years), to guiding nature-based ancestral programs, interspersed with now longer periods of napping, dreaming, writing, and grand parenting (3 years and counting).  Over the course of that journey he spent 29 years in academic settings as a professional student, finally arriving at grandmother’s classroom for the environmentally challenged where he discovered the rich path of unknowing.  He continues to court the Beloved who continues to challenge him and offer him signposts for each next step into the unknown.  More recently he has been walking with his ancestral lineage and guiding others on that path in five-day nature based programs that he offers in the US and internationally.
